Yesterday at Tate Modern Hamish Fulton (the walking artist) staged a 'Slowalk' in support of Ai Weiwei, who has been detained by the Chinese authorities since April 3rd.
Just under a hundred volunteers took two hours to span four widths or lengths of Tate Modern's Turbine Hall ramp, in a collective act of protest. I directed this film about the performance for TateShots, which was filmed by Catherine Hyland and edited by Hal Arnold, and uploaded to Tate's website within 24 hours of the event. Please sign this petition calling for the release of Ai Weiwei.
