Ori Gersht: This Storm is What We Call Progress

Here are two films I made about the Israeli artist Ori Gersht, coinciding with his first exhibition at the Imperial War Museum London.

Working in photography and film, Gersht deals with the trauma of war and conflict in a way that is extraordinarily sensitive, and often seductive.

The films are two versions of the same interview. The longer version covers three projects represented in the exhibition: Chasing Good Fortune, Will You Dance For Me and Evaders, whilst the shorter film, with a little more detail on Evaders, was made for the Art Fund, who have a particular interest in that work.

The film was commissioned jointly by Photoworks and Art Fund.
