Turner Contemporary's Opening Celebrations

When Turner Contemporary opened its doors in April 2011, the opening celebrations, like the queues to get in, spread out into Margate itself. 'YOU ARE HERE' was a programme of art, dance and musical performances that took place in the gallery, on the sea front and in the town centre.

Our film gives a taster of these exciting events and activities, and we spoke to gallery staff, artists, performers, visitors and local businesses to find out what the opening of the gallery meant to them.
